45 new facilities have been added to the EU ship recycling center list.

The 12th updated list of EU Recycling Facilities has been published.

This year, two more Turkish ship conversion facilities were included in the list. n with Leyal – Demtaş Gemi Söküm Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. Added to the EU recycling list. Both companies were last on the list in 2018.

On the other hand, US-based International Shipbreaking Limited LLC also found its place on the list.

The European list currently includes a total of 45 facilities, 35 from EU countries, Norway and the UK, nine from Turkey and one from the USA.

The list, prepared in line with the EU Ship Recycling Directive, requires all large marine vessels sailing under the flag of an EU Member state since 31 December 2018 to use an approved ship recycling facility included in the European list of ship recycling facilities.

To be included on the European list, any ship recycling facility, regardless of its location, must comply with a number of safety and environmental requirements.
