The wreckage of the F-35 aircraft belonging to the marines, which crashed in the USA after the pilot survived, was found.
Authorities determined that the wreckage found in a rural area 2 hours away from Charleston International Airport in South Carolina belonged to the missing plane.
Making a press statement regarding the accident, marine corps officials said, “The accident is currently under investigation and we cannot provide additional information to preserve the integrity of the investigation process.” said.
Authorities, who were trying to remove the debris, requested local people to stay away from the area for safety.
The disappearance of the plane was criticized
Republican Member of Parliament Nancy Mace criticized the disappearance of the plane on the social media platform X and said, “How can you lose an F-35?” he said.
Mace said, “How can there be no tracking device and what do we expect the public to do, find the jet and deliver it? We knew the F-35s were kept secret, but this is ridiculous.” shared his opinion.
Flights across the USA were suspended for 2 days
Following the crash of the Marine F-35 plane, Deputy Commander of the Marine Corps Eric Smith announced that all flights in all aviation units inside and outside the USA were suspended for 2 days.
The commander announced that no marine aircraft will be allowed to take off until the 2-day meeting is completed within the scope of security measures and procedures.
Marine F-35 plane crashed
US Army Spokesperson Major Melanie Salinas stated in her statement that the F-35 aircraft belonging to the Marine Corps malfunctioned while flying in the North Charleston region of South Carolina.
Noting that the pilot survived by jumping with a parachute, Salinas stated that search efforts were launched in the region for the crashed F-35 plane.
