An administrative fine of 7 million 717 thousand 748 liras was imposed on the operator of the Liberian flagged ship, which was found to have pumped dirty ballast water into the Marmara Sea off the coast of Çiftlikköy district of Yalova.

Yalova Police Department Sea Port Branch Directorate and TCSG 17 Boat Command teams affiliated with the Coast Guard Command carried out joint work on the Yalova coast.

The teams determined that dirty ballast water was discharged into the sea from a Liberian flag ship in the Çiftlikköy anchorage and the environment was polluted.

The teams recorded the incident and imposed an administrative fine of 7 million 717 thousand 748 liras on the operating company in accordance with the relevant legislation.

It was learned that the judicial investigation was continuing and the ship was banned from sailing by the Yalova Regional Port Authority.
