Anadolu Shipyard had previously built a total of four landing ships of three different types for the Qatar Navy. A total of four landing ships, including a Fast Amphibious Ship (LCT), two Mechanized Landing Ships (LCM) and a Vehicle and Personnel Landing Ship (LCVP), were built at the Anadolu Shipyard’s campus in Tuzla.

The ships, which were built in 22 months, were delivered to the Qatar Navy after the completion of the six-week personnel training that started in July 2022. Again, Qatar purchased two offshore patrol ships from Anadolu Shipyard, and the construction of the ships named Al Doha and Al Shamal were completed and delivered in 36 months.
