In his written statement, Uraloğlu pointed out that the trainings organized within the framework of the cooperation protocol between the Turkish Sailing Federation and the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs were met with great interest.

Stating that 17 thousand 755 applications were made through 62 sailing clubs from 19 provinces for the training given on the high seas, Uraloğlu said, “17 thousand 672 people were entitled to receive certificates in the practical training we provided on the high seas in the 6 months between May and October. The goal of the sailor nation, the sailor country, “With this interest, it will grow even stronger.” made his assessment.

Pointing out that the most applications for training were made from the Marmara Region with 9 thousand 768 people, Uraloğlu said, “The number of application training centers and the area they cover are increasing day by day, due to the intense interest of our citizens. The application trainings, which started with 44 clubs, were increased to 62 clubs over the course of time.” shared his knowledge.

“The number of private boats exceeded 120 thousand”

Minister Uraloğlu gave the following information about the content of amateur maritime training:

“In this context, 4 hours of practical face-to-face training in the open sea was added to the 10-hour theoretical online training in cooperation with the Turkish Sailing Federation. With the practical training received, our citizens became familiar with boats and the sea. The training is given on inflatable boats, outboard motor boats and sailboats. After the training is completed “By being referred to the exam, those who pass the exam can receive their documents from the nearest card-printing port authorities, or they can use their private boats with the verifiable barcoded printout received via e-Government. With these trainings, we are trying to ensure that the goal of a maritime nation, the maritime country, whose seeds we have sown, will grow even stronger.”

Uraloğlu also mentioned that the goal of disseminating maritime culture within the scope of the project contributes to the production of private boats, and that this contribution will continue to increase.

Noting that the number of private boats increased during the duration of the project, despite the conditions of the Covid-19 epidemic, Uraloğlu said, “The number of private boats has exceeded 120 thousand. It is inevitable that marine tourism will be positively affected by this growth.” he said.
