The captain of a cargo ship anchored off the coast of Kartal lost his life when he fell inside the ship and hit his head.
The incident happened around 08:00 off the coast of Kartal in Istanbul. Allegedly, Harun Kuş (65), the captain of a cargo ship anchored 1 mile away from Kartal pier, died as a result of falling and hitting his head while opening the cabin inside the ship.
The situation was reported to the coast guard command by the crew on board. Upon notification of the situation, crime scene investigation teams were dispatched. The family of the deceased ship captain Harun Kuş was also called to the scene.
The teams arriving at the scene and Kartal Coast Guard teams took the body of Captain Harun Kuş, who fell inside the ship and died, to the Kartal fishing harbor. While the body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institution by the teams, an investigation into the incident was initiated.
