cargo ship hit a mine in the black sea

The bulk carrier named IDA hit a mine in the Danube Delta region.

The ship suffered minor damage as a result of the accident. It was announced that the ship’s crew was not injured in the mine strike.

Following the accident, the bulk carrier IDA moved towards Ilyichevks Port for repairs.

On the other hand, Romania and Bulgaria, two coastal states, made an important decision in response to the recent increase in ship mine accidents in the Black Sea.

Bulgaria and Romania have launched a joint demining operation to clear mines in their national waters and protect ships from mines. A joint group consisting of approximately 5-6 Bulgarian minesweepers and frigates and Romanian minesweepers was formed.
