Motor yacht VIVIERAE II on Mar 2 reported encountering propeller issue, disabled, adrift in Arafura sea north of Gulf of Carpentaria, with 6 persons on board, including Canada, US, UK and SAR nationalities. Yacht is en route from Cairns Australia to Sorong, Indonesia, northern West Papua. Understood she’s in charter trip with tourists on board. Assistance was already sent by Indonesian maritime authorities, salvage team is to board yacht on Mar 5. Most probably, she will be towed to nearest port with repair facilities.
