Clipper Bulk Shipping Ltd., an international shipping company, christened one of their vessels as the “NORSE CAMDEN,” paying tribute to the city of Camden, New Jersey for its pivotal role in the global supply chain.

The “NORSE CAMDEN” is the fifth eco-friendly vessel in a series commissioned by Clipper Bulk, with most of these ships being constructed in Japan. Each ship in this collection is named after significant steel ports worldwide. The official docking ceremony for the ship occurred at the Balzano Terminal in Camden on October 24th.

For over three decades, Clipper Bulk, in collaboration with the South Jersey Port Corporation, has imported steel from Northern Europe, notably tinplate in coils, steel coils, and structural steel.

Mayor Vic Carstarphen of Camden expressed his appreciation for the symbolic gesture of naming the ship after their city, stating, “We are honored to be connected with Clipper Bulk Shipping’s vessel, the Norse Camden. This event underscores Camden’s vital role in the global supply chain and reaffirms our dedication to nurturing robust international alliances.”

Established in 1972, Clipper Bulk Shipping Ltd. remains a privately held company headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. It operates offices in Houston, Hong Kong, and Cape Town, overseeing a fleet of 90 vessels.
