Fines for ships without valid licenses

The Regulation on Amendments to the Mooring Log Implementation Regulation prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure came into force after being published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, private ships under 2.5 meters will not be recorded in the mooring log.

The license will be issued for a period of one year or its multiples, up to a maximum of 5 years. It will be mandatory to re-issue the license at the end of its term. These transactions can be carried out at all port authorities authorized to issue licenses.

Renewal applications must be made at least 15 days before the license expires. For applications made after the license period has expired, the start date of the re-issued license will start from the expiry date of the previous license.

Ships, maritime and inland watercraft that have not been re-licensed for 5 years after the license expires will be automatically deleted from the registry.

Fines to be imposed on the owners and operators of ships, sea and inland watercraft that do not have a valid license in accordance with the provisions of the regulation have also been regulated.

Accordingly, a fine of 250 lira per meter for ships, sea and inland water vehicles between 2.5 meters and 10 meters, 500 lira for those between 10 meters and 20 meters, 750 lira for those between 20 meters and 30 meters, and 1,000 TL for those longer than 30 meters. will be given.

In addition to the administrative fine, an administrative fine will be imposed in the amount calculated by adding 5 percent to this amount for each month the license is late, starting from the date the license should be issued for the first time or re-issued.

Values ​​smaller than one meter will not be taken into account when determining the length of the ship.

If the administrative fine is paid within the 1-month payment period, a 25 percent discount will be made from the penalty.
