Pro-Palestinian group in Australia blocked Israeli cargo ship from anchoring at the port
Hundreds of Palestinian supporters gathered in Sydney, Australia, and prevented the cargo ship “allegedly carrying weapons to Israel” from anchoring at the port.
According to ABC News, hundreds of people staged a protest in Sydney after learning that the ship belonging to the Israeli logistics company ZIM would dock at Botany Port.
Demonstrators with Palestinian flags in their hands shouted slogans stating that they did not want to see the ship in the port.
While the cargo ship could not dock at the port at the planned time due to the protest demonstration, it was stated that this protest organized by the Sydney Palestine Freedom Movement and many other organizations was the first step of the campaigns against the ship.
Paddy Gibson, one of the pro-Palestinian demonstrators, told the country and the world public opinion, “(The Israelis) are in every port of the world, which means we can fight them in every port of the world and bring them to their knees. Start hitting them economically where it hurts.” he called.
