The Lycian Cup Sailing Yacht Races, held in Kemer district of Antalya and attended by 15 yachts, has started.

A ceremony was held before the organization organized by Kemer Municipality. Kemer Mayor Necati Topaloğlu, Kemer Coast Guard Commander Soner Tuna, Kemer G-Marina Manager Levent Tokaç, Kemer Municipality Yacht Sailing Sports Club President Orhan Yeşilli and athletes attended the ceremony.

Kemer Coast Guard Command teams accompanied the sailing yachts participating in the competition and took security measures at the race points.

The first day of the competition, which started near the Paris 2 shipwreck, was completed by passing through the routes in Tekirova District, Üç Adalar location and Phaselis Ancient City Port.

Mayor Topaloğlu stated that the Lycian Cup races made a great contribution to the maritime industry and marine sports in Kemer.

Noting that the races also set an example for the training of future sailors, Topaloğlu said:

“The competitions are very important as they are the only sailing races held in our region. The races are very valuable in terms of highlighting the natural beauties in our region and contributing to tourism. As Kemer Municipality, we attach great importance and support to our children meeting sailing. I would like to thank those who contributed to the organization of the races.”

The organization will start tomorrow between Kemer G-Marina and Fener Sığlığı and end with the Kiriş route.
