Şükrü Yorulmaz, Head of Disaster and Emergency Management Department of the Ministry of Health, stated that the ship that will carry field hospitals, ambulances, medicine and medical supplies for Gazans will depart from Izmir to Egypt tomorrow.

Şükrü Yorulmaz, in his statement to journalists at Izmir Alsancak Port, where the materials were collected, said that they started working on the instructions of the ministry after the attacks.

Stating that they have prepared field hospitals with their equipment, which can serve at twenty points, Yorulmaz continued as follows:

“We moved them all to Izmir Alsancak Port. In addition, we also prepared 20 ambulances that may be in great need in the region. Hopefully, we will operate them together with the ship in the most suitable places to serve our Palestinian Muslim brothers. These hospitals are very important. In Palestine, especially the health infrastructure is about to be completely destroyed.” All people are suffering there and the injured are looking for a hospital. In these hospitals, we have all kinds of laboratory systems, imaging methods, intensive care units. We have operating rooms and operating room capacities where all kinds of surgical operations can be performed. Again, in this hospital, smaller scale, more intensive care units are available at different points, depending on the need. “There are field hospitals that can be set up quickly and easily.”

Yorulmaz emphasized that the hospitals in question have operating room units, x-rays, ultrasound devices and mobile laboratory units and that they will take everything necessary in a hospital there.

Stating that, as the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Health, they will provide health services to the oppressed people in the region, as always, Yorulmaz concluded his words as follows:

“As the Ministry, our phones are locked. Our healthcare personnel, doctors and nurses constantly call us and say that they want to go and serve there. People want to leave their children and children there and help these oppressed people. This, of course, shows the difference of our nation. The materials will start to be loaded onto the ship as of tonight. “If there is no problem, hopefully we will set out for El-Arish Port tomorrow.”
