Fire erupted in engine room of Capesize bulk carrier BEKS FORCE with 24 crew in the morning Jun 16, 40 nm south of Nakhodka port, Russia, Japan sea. Emergency service was alerted at 0955 LT (UTC +10) Jun 16, bulk carrier reported fire and 2 injured crewmen, Filipino and Turkish. Crewmen have been already evacuated and transferred to hospital, tugs and patrol ships responded, at least on tug is approaching disabled bulk carrier as of 1400 LT Jun 16. BEKS FORCE is bound for Vostochniy port (Nakhodka), she ballasted from China and was adrift 35-40 nm south of Nakhodka since Jun 14, waiting for berth. Ship’s AIS is on.
