While it was reported that no injuries occurred and no sea pollution occurred, the Halkida Central Port Authority decided to arrest the captain until documents were received from the classification company and prohibited the ship from leaving the port.

The arrest of the captain of the ship carrying 2 thousand 200 tons of caustic soda was based on Greek Maritime Law articles 273 dangerous damage, 291 dangerous interference in traffic and 378 damaging foreign goods.

The name of the ship and the captain were not disclosed.
