The 11th Bodrum International Optimist Races (BIOR) started in Bodrum district of Muğla.
In the organization, which is included in the activity program of the Turkish Sailing Federation (TYF) and organized by the Bodrum Municipality Bodrumspor Sailing Branch with the contributions of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and Bodrum Municipality, the athletes sailing from the Bodrumspor Sailing Branch facilities compete on the course established off the coast of Bodrum in the first day races.
Athletes will compete in a total of 12 races, 3 races in 4 groups.
9-year-old Deniz Acele, one of the athletes participating in the race, stated that he has been doing sailing for 4 years and that he enjoyed the races very much and was excited.
10-year-old Esma Türk stated that she has been involved in sailing for 3 years and that she loves doing sports and that sailing is very important to her.
The organization, in which nearly 400 athletes from 7 countries compete, will end with the award ceremony on October 15.
