148 more healthcare workers will be sent to Libya affected by flood disaster

Minister of Health Fahrettin Koca announced that 148 healthcare workers will go to Libya, which was affected by the flood, by ship departing from Izmir Alsancak Port tonight.

Minister Koca, in his statement on his social media account, stated that thousands of people lost their lives in the flood disaster in Libya and thousands of people were not heard from.

Koca reminded that the ministry sent 2 emergency response units, medical consumables, many generators, medicines and medical devices, and an 11-person UMKE and UMKE ATAK team to Libya after the disaster.

Stating that 159 healthcare workers will be with the Libyan people with the new team to be sent, Koca said:

“Tonight, we are sending 148 more personnel with the ship that will depart from Izmir Alsancak Port. 2 fully equipped field hospitals and 6 emergency response units, 10 ambulances, 7 UMKE ATAK-equipped vehicles, 6 emergency response vehicles are on the way with the same ship.”
