It was reported that 23 people were missing when a boat carrying passengers capsized in Kebbi state of Nigeria.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a boat carrying passengers sank in the river in Yauri area of Kebbi last night.
Kebbi Governorship Press Spokesperson, Alhaji Salihu Garba, announced that 23 people were missing in the incident, while 7 people survived.
Stating that search and rescue efforts are continuing, Garba stated that they are concerned about the loss of lives of the missing people.
Boat disasters can occasionally occur on rivers during the rainy season in Nigeria. 30 people lost their lives when a boat carrying passengers sank in the Mokwa River in Adamawa state on September 10.
