Off the coast of Izmir, a total of 241 irregular immigrants were rescued, 151 of whom were pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, 90 whose boats were dragged due to engine failure, and 77 irregular immigrants who wanted to cross the country illegally were caught.

According to the statement on the Coast Guard Command’s website, a Coast Guard boat was assigned to the region upon information that there was a group of irregular immigrants in a rubber boat off the coast of Foça district.

33 irregular immigrants on the rubber boat, which was pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek elements, were rescued.

The Coast Guard also disembarked 73 irregular immigrants off the coast of Seferihisar, 18 off the coast of Urla, and 27 off the coast of Karaburun, whose boats and life rafts were pushed back.

Off the coast of Urla, 90 irregular immigrants, whose boat was adrift due to engine failure and requested help, were rescued.

On the other hand, the teams caught a total of 77 irregular immigrants, 51 of whom were off the coast of Dikili, who wanted to cross the country illegally.

Irregular immigrants were sent to the Provincial Directorate of Immigration Management after their procedures.
