Istanbul Governorship reported that a fine of 31 million 858 thousand 359 liras was imposed on the ship that polluted the sea off the coast of Küçükçekmece.

In the statement made by the Governorship, it was stated that the Coast Guard Command and the Turkish Environment Agency (TÜÇA) teams intervened in the incident after receiving a notice that the Liberian-flagged commercial ship anchored in front of Küçükçekmece on September 24 was discharging dirty water into the sea.

It was stated in the statement that the team’s investigation determined that the ship was causing environmental pollution, and that the ship was fined 31 million 858 thousand 359 liras by TÜÇA in accordance with the law.
