A fire broke out when a person living on a boat on the Istanbul Yenikapı coast was preparing breakfast in the morning when the fire from the cylinder ignited the bed.
The fire occurred at around 09:00 on the Yenikapı beach in Fatih. Allegedly, Kemal Aksu lit the tube to prepare breakfast on his own boat. When the fire coming out of the tube ignited the bed, the fire grew and surrounded the entire boat. Aksu saved herself by getting out of the boat as the fire grew.
Citizens around who saw the flames reported the situation to the police, fire brigade and medical teams. Fire crews extinguished the burning boat in a short time. Police teams started an investigation into the issue. Kemal Aksu, who said he lived on the boat, stated that all his belongings were burned.
Material damage occurred to the boat after the fire.
