9 tons of illegally caught horse mackerel were seized in the Bosphorus. Administrative fines were imposed on 2 commercial boats.

During the aquaculture inspection carried out by the Coast Guard Marmara and Straits Regional Command teams in the Bosphorus, approximately 9 tons of horse mackerel were caught in violation of size prohibitions.

A fisheries inspection was carried out against those engaged in illegal commercial fishing on the Anadolu Kavağı and Poyrazköy sides of the Bosphorus. During the inspection carried out by the Coast Guard Marmara and Straits Regional Command TCSG – 29 Coast Guard Boat Command, 590 boxes of horse mackerel, weighing approximately 9 tons, were seized on 2 commercial boats, which were found to be caught in violation of the length bans.

The teams did not tolerate illegal hunting and imposed an administrative fine of 107 thousand 956 TL on 2 commercial boats. Confiscated fish; The Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Directorate decided to transfer its ownership to the public and it was donated to social aid institutions to be delivered to those in need.
