The International Olympic Committee (IOC) included beach sprint, a branch of sea rowing, in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
In the statement made by the Turkish Rowing Federation, it was stated that the IOC decided that among the 16 disciplines proposed, only the sea rowing beach sprint would take part in Los Angeles 2028.
It was noted that for the first time in history, rowing will take part in the Olympics with two branches, and there will be men’s single sculls, women’s single sculls and mixed double sculls races.
It was stated that beach sprint races have become widespread in Turkey and are taking part in international races.
