Garbage on the beaches was collected by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with ‘Let’s Do It’ within the scope of World Cleaning Day.

According to the written statement made by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, cleaning was carried out on Costal and Atakum beaches in order to raise awareness about a clean environment.

Environmental Protection and Control Department teams, members of non-governmental organizations and students collected plastic bottles, cigarette butts, plastic bags and other garbage.

Enes Sinan Yüksel, Blue Flag Local Officer of Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department, stated that sensitivity is shown in every environmental work.

Yüksel said, “In order to create a clean world, we carried out our garbage collection event on the Costal and Atakum beaches in partnership with our Metropolitan Municipality and Let’s Do It. The purpose of this event is not only to collect garbage, but also to raise awareness about creating a cleaner and healthier environment by increasing our environmental awareness.
