Due to the heavy rain and storm that was also effective in Bodrum district, the approximately 10-meter sailboat was dragged to the Kumbahçe coast.

It turned out that the boat, which was dragged ashore by strong winds in Bodrum district of Muğla, was carrying irregular immigrants.

The incident occurred at night. According to the information obtained, irregular immigrants boarded the 9-meter-long Polish-flagged sailing boat ‘Loren Gdask’ and set out illegally to go to Kos Island in Greece. Bodrum Coast Guard Station Command teams blocked the irregular immigrants off the coast of Kumbahçe. Noticing the Coast Guard, the immigrants maneuvered and drove the sailboat towards the beach.

Irregular immigrants approaching the shore jumped into the sea, went ashore and dispersed to Bodrum. The sailboat was dragged ashore by the strong wind and fell on its side. Following the notice, police teams went after irregular immigrants. It was reported that efforts are continuing to catch irregular immigrants.
