Niger State Relief and Rehabilitation President Alhaji Salihu Garba, in his statement, reminded that the boat carrying passengers capsized in the Shiroro region in Niger state on November 16.
Garba noted that the dead bodies of 9 people were found during the rescue efforts following the incident.
Stating that many people were missing in the incident, Garba stated that rescue efforts were continuing in the region.
On November 16, a boat carrying more than 30 passengers capsized in Niger state for an unknown reason.
In Nigeria, boat accidents occasionally occur on rivers and lakes during the rainy season.
