Bulgarian Navy destroyed an explosives-laden drone off the country’s Black Sea coast.
A hotel manager noticed the heavily damaged 3.5-meter drone that had washed ashore in the village of Tülenovo on the Black Sea coast in northeastern Bulgaria, close to the Romanian border.
According to the written statement made by the Ministry of Defense, Naval Forces teams arrived at the scene in the morning upon notice.
The teams detected that there was an 82-millimeter explosive on the drone.
The explosive was destroyed by remote control.
Defense Minister Todor Tagarev announced that it was not determined where the drone was sent from, but it was related to the Russia-Ukraine War.
Tagarev stated that the destruction work was carried out by taking all necessary security measures.
Pointing out that carrying out destruction work at night poses a risk for the team, Tagarev said, “Therefore, we worked during the day. Such incidents occur every week.” said.
