Bulgarian cargo ship was seized by pirates in the Arabian Sea

It was reported that a Bulgarian cargo ship was seized by pirates in the Arabian Sea yesterday.

According to the news in the Bulgarian press, in the written statement made by the shipping company Navibulgar, it was noted that contact with the company’s Maltese-flagged Ruen ship in the south of Yemen was lost.

In the statement, it was stated that unidentified pirates seized the ship in the Arabian Sea and that coordination was being made with international authorities on the issue.

In the statement, it was emphasized that the safety of the 18-person crew on the cargo ship is the first priority.

In the news in the country’s press, it is stated that the crew on the Ruen ship are citizens of Bulgaria and Myanmar.

On the other hand, while no one has yet claimed responsibility for the incident in question, it is stated that an Iranian-flagged fishing ship turned off its signal in the area where Ruen was seized 6 hours before the incident.

The British Shipping Organization (UKMTO) announced that it was investigating the seizure of a ship by pirates in the Arabian Sea.
