china launches new generation marine observation satellite

China has sent its new generation marine observation satellite into space, which can make color observations with precise clarity.

According to the news of the Chinese agency Xinhua, the satellite was launched from the Ciuchuen Satellite Center in the Gobi Desert with a Long March 2C rocket.

As the satellite settled into its planned orbital position, this became the 497th successful transport mission carried out by Long March rockets.

While no information is given about the name and orbital location of the satellite in the news, it is understood from the information obtained from international databases and satellite tracking sites that the satellite positioned in Sun Synchronous Orbit is “Hayyang 3A”.

Hayyang satellites, whose name means “ocean” in Chinese, enable large-scale, continuous and dynamic monitoring of different features of oceans, seas, lakes and streams from space.

Developed by the China Academy of Space Technology, Hayyang satellites can observe the water environment in the open seas and on island and harbor shores by analyzing it in terms of color, temperature and matter states.

It was noted that Hayyang 3A, the first satellite with high color sensitivity in the world, will provide remote sensing services for monitoring the use of fish resources and marine pollution in China’s sea routes.
