Coast guard found the boat that was dragged 200 kilometers in the storm - News2Sea

In the Samandağ district of Hatay, the boat, whose rope broke and drifted 200 kilometers during the night storm, was found by the coast guard teams by calculating the direction and strength of the wind and delivered it to its owner.

On the night of January 13, in the Samandağ Meydan District, the boat moored on the shore drifted offshore when the ropes broke due to the storm. Realizing that his boat was not in place on Saturday, the captain asked for help from the Coast Guard Command. The teams started their search with the assumption that the fishing boat named Güner Kaptan-1, which is 10 meters long, drifted towards the Cyprus Island due to the wind speed exceeding 70/80 kilometers per hour. The boat was detected in the north of Cyprus 3 days after it disappeared, with the Coast Guard’s sensitive studies calculating the direction and strength of the wind. The boat, which was dragged for more than 200 kilometers while straying, was taken to Yeşilovacık Fishing Shelter in Silifke district of Mersin. The bread boat, which is the livelihood of 3 families, was delivered to its owner by the Coast Guard units.
