Many fish died due to lack of oxygen in the irrigation canal in Edirne.
Those who see the fish standing motionless on the surface in the promotion pool of the irrigation channel used by the Abdurrahman District Irrigation Cooperative, report the situation to DSI. He reported it to the 111th Branch Directorate officials.
It was seen that some citizens threw bread into the pool for the fish to eat.
Officials came to the pool and inspected it and instructed the cooperative operating the irrigation channel to clean the dead fish.
Authorities stated that the fish, which reached the canal with the water pumped from the Meriç River, gathered in the pumping pool as the water level dropped, and died due to lack of oxygen when the water flow stopped.
