Fishermen in Düzce’s Akçakoca district could not go hunting due to adverse weather conditions.
Fishermen took their boats to safe areas as the wave length exceeded 3 meters as a result of the strong wind in the district, which is located on the coast of the Black Sea. Fishermen are waiting for weather conditions to improve.
Akçakoca Fisheries Cooperative President Mustafa Karakaş said that they could not go to sea for 2 days due to unfavorable weather and sea conditions.
Stating that they took the boats to safe areas, Karakaş said, “Our boats were damaged in the previous storm and many of our nets were gone. We were able to sail for 2-3 days with the boats and nets we had left. However, we could not sail for two days due to the storm.” said.
Karakaş noted that they will go hunting again when the weather conditions improve.
