Fishing shelter damaged due to storm - News2Sea

Damage occurred to a fishing shelter due to the storm in Avcılar.

Giant waves formed on the Avcılar Coast of the Marmara Sea due to the strong storm that started yesterday evening in Istanbul.

While the rocks on the beach were thrown onto the road due to the severe storm, the waves breaking over the breakwaters flooded the fishing shelter in Ambarlı.

Due to the storm and showers during the day, there were partial collapses on some roads along the coast and the pavements were damaged.

Halit Aslan, who is fishing in the region, stated that his boat was about to sink after its rope broke due to the waves and said, “This place is like a river. I have been fishing here for 20 years and this is the first time I have seen something like this here. It is a disaster.” he said.

Damage assessment efforts of the teams in the region continue.
