IDO started preparations for an expedition to the Greek Islands - News2Sea

In the statement made by Istanbul Sea Buses (IDO), it was stated that they will start Sığacık Teos Marina-Samos voyages in the Aegean Sea in the new year, after the visa requirement for Turkish citizens to the Greek islands is abolished.

A statement came from IDO after Turkish citizens were given the opportunity to travel to 10 Greek islands without a visa for 7 days. Stating that they have a total of 47 ships and 35 piers in their fleet, including 5 ferries, 24 sea buses and 18 car ferries, the company, as İDO, operates in the field of passenger and vehicle transportation in the Marmara Region, serving approximately 11 million vehicles and 35 million passengers annually with 1,250 employees. “We will start our Sığacık Teos Marina-Samos voyages in 2024”

The statement made by IDO, stating that they carried out voyages outside the Marmara Sea with two ships on the Hatay-Cyprus line last year and with one ship on the Mersin-Hatay line this year, is as follows:
“As the leading company in maritime passenger transportation, after our 36 years of experience in the Marmara Sea as well as our Mediterranean experiences, we will start our Sığacık Teos Marina-Samos voyages in the Aegean Sea in 2024. With our fast sea buses with a capacity of 449 people, we will shorten the transportation time from the Aegean coast to the islands in a safe and fast manner. We aim to offer a comfortable journey experience. We plan to start our voyages in April with our first ship in the Aegean Islands, reducing the time between Sığacık Teos Marina and Samos to 1 hour. We would like to thank Faruk Günlü, General Manager of Teos Marina, with whom we cooperated in our expansion to the Aegean Islands, for his support. Our ferry’s main mooring and Teos Marina, the departure point, is 50 kilometers from Izmir center and can be reached in approximately 30-40 minutes. There are also public buses from Izmir to Seferihisar-Sığacık. If you come with your private vehicle, it is 100 meters away from the Samos Ferry connected to Teos Marina and offers discounts in the marina. There is parking service. There is Setur Duty Free in the Teos Marina departure lounge. If the necessary permits are obtained, Setur Duty Free will also provide service in the arrivals hall as of April. We will move forward by integrating the sale of tour packages, which include accommodation such as hotels, restaurants, and food and beverage services, in addition to passenger tickets, into our system through agencies. We work with our experienced team to provide comfortable integrated service. We predict that demand will increase after the announcement of the new visa that will be valid on the Greek islands. “In addition, due to the trust in the İDO brand, we are aiming to cooperate with agencies in different destinations by improving our sales system for the islands to which we organize tours as well as for the islands we do not organize trips to.”
