The South Korean and Australian Navies are holding a joint naval exercise in the East Sea to “improve their joint operational capabilities and interoperability”.

According to Yonhap’s news, based on the statement of the South Korean Navy, the naval exercise started on October 31 near the city of Ulsan.

In the statement, it was noted that the exercise held in the East Sea aimed to “improve the joint operational capabilities and interoperability” of the two armies.

It was reported that 6 ships, maritime surveillance and military helicopters of the South Korean Navy, Anzac class “Toowoomba” frigate, 1 “MH-60R Seahawk” helicopter and maritime patrol aircraft of the Australian Navy participated in the exercise.

The drill, which is held every two years and is for the 9th time this year, will end on November 3.
