Maersk to invest over $500 million to strengthen Southeast Asian supply chain

Denmark-based shipping company Maersk (MAERSK) announced on Monday that it will invest over $500 million to expand its supply chain infrastructure in Southeast Asia.

Maersk plans to increase its storage and distributor capacity in the region by 50%. It projects it will add approximately 480,000 square meters of capacity across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines by 2026.

According to information provided by Maersk, the planned three-year investment aims to strengthen supply chain resilience and reduce the cost of trade, which is often two to three times higher, especially in certain Asian markets.
