North Korea argues that the aircraft carrier sent by the US to South Korea was a “provocation”

North Korea claimed that the aircraft carrier sent by the USA to South Korea was intended as a “provocation”.

North Korea’s official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) made statements regarding US activities on the Korean Peninsula.

The statement noted that the aircraft carrier “USS Ronald Reagan” sent by the USA to South Korea was a “clear military provocation” and that it could lead to “irreversible disasters” on the Korean Peninsula.

In the statement, it was also reported that the Nuclear Consultative Group (NCG), which was established by the USA and South Korea to act together against the North’s nuclear activities, was a threat to North Korea.

Pointing to North Korea’s public doctrine on the use of nuclear weapons, the statement noted that “If Pyongyang is convinced that a nuclear attack will be launched against it, the necessary procedures will be allowed to be implemented within the scope of the doctrine.”

The aircraft carrier “USS Ronald Reagan”, which the USA sent to the region for the first time after 6 months, arrived in South Korea yesterday. The ship will remain in South Korea until October 16.
