philippines reacted to china blockading supply boats

The Philippines reacted to the Chinese coast guard, which blockaded two supply boats carrying supplies to the warship in the disputed waters of the South China Sea.

In his statement, Rear Admiral Jay Tarriela, one of the spokespersons of the Philippine Coast Guard Command, reacted to the blockade created by Chinese coast guard ships against two supply boats belonging to his country in the waters of the Spratly Islands in the South China Sea.

Arguing that the ships belonging to the Chinese coast guard “violated international law”, Tarriela condemned this behavior.

Philippine supply boats broke through the Chinese coast guard blockade

It was announced that the supply ships belonging to the Philippines managed to deliver supplies to the Philippine forces in the region by overcoming the blockade created by these ships, despite the “obstruction, harassment and intervention attempts” of the Chinese coast guard.

It was emphasized that these supply and maintenance missions to the BRP Sierra Madre ship, located in the Second Thomas Shoal near the Spratly Islands, were part of regular operations carried out “in accordance with local and international law”.
