Sanmar delivered two tugboats in its fleet operating in ports in Turkey to Boluda Towage, one of the world’s leading operators.

Sanmar delivered two tugboats in its fleet, Deliçay VIII and Deliçay X, operating in ports in Turkey, to Boluda Towage, one of the world’s leading operators. The tugboats named VB HORUS and VB AMON were the first tugboats delivered by Sanmar to Boluda.

The tugboats, which were delivered at the beginning of December, were previously working in the Sanmar fleet in Izmir and Izmit Bays.

VB HORUS (ex Deliçay VIII), built in 2021, and VB AMON (ex Deliçay Z 2500SX type azimuth tractor design.

The tugs, which have a length of 25.30 m, a width of 12.00 m, a depth of 4.46 m and a draft of approximately 6.55 m, are equipped with a pair of CAT 3516C main engines and Kongsberg US 255S FP propellers, each capable of producing 2,100 kW of power and operating at 1,600 rpm. It has 75 tons of tractive power and a cruising speed of 12.5 knots, with a tractor-type configuration in which Azimuth propellers are positioned at the beginning. The tugs have a capacity of 83,900 liters of fuel and 12,300 liters of fresh water.

Regarding the deliveries, Sanmar Shipyards Commercial Director Rüçhan Çıvgın said, “We are happy to deliver our first tugboats to Boluda and we hope that this cooperation will continue and grow. “Boluda is one of the leading companies with an important place in the maritime industry, and it is gratifying to be able to offer them two modern tugboats that can meet their special operational needs,” he said.

In addition to building a wide range of technologically advanced and environmentally friendly tugs, Sanmar operates a strong and young fleet of 32 tugs and moorings providing safe towage and pilotage services in six ports in Turkey.
