Setur Marinas, Turkey’s leading marina operator, which focuses on sustainability in all its activities, participated in the third Monaco Smart and Sustainable Marina Conference, held on 24-25 September this year, with its Ayvalık Marina special project.

Organized by Monaco Marina Management and attended by many companies around the world, the Smart and Sustainable Marina conference brings together key players, investors, marina developers, architects, manufacturers and innovators to promote the development of environmentally friendly, efficient and user-friendly marinas.

At the event held for the third time this year, Setur Marinas Ayvalık Marina Manager Süleyman Ercan also made a speech about the renewed Ayvalık project.

Süleyman Ercan stated that he was happy to be at the Monaco Smart & Sustainable Marina Conference, where seminal topics on sustainability in the sector were discussed, projects and ideas were shared, and participating companies from many parts of the world contributed, and continued his words as follows:

“As Setur Marinas, we are starting to use zero-emission vehicles to strengthen our commitment to sustainability. We will continue our corporate collaborations and training practices and offer climate crisis-themed events to our employees and customers every year. In addition, we will continue to expand our support for university biodiversity research with Setur Marinas Ayvalık.”

At the conference attended by Albert, Süleyman Ercan said the following about sustainability and marinating about Ayvalık marina: “We have successfully completed zero single-use plastic consumption for our marina employees in 2023. This important success was achieved thanks to the Smartium Clean Project developed by Setur Marinas & Koç System. The project breaks new ground in the fight against pollution by cleaning floating waste from water with autonomous and manual devices. “This innovative project once again shows our determination to protect our environment and for a sustainable future.”

Setur Marinas Technical Services Group Manager İlker Öngül served as a jury member in the session where start-up projects were evaluated.

Setur Marinas will continue to increase and improve its sustainability-focused efforts.
