An international race for our country’s sailing world has started in a full and lively manner, hosted by Bodrum, with plans to grow with each passing month.

Istanbul-based AP Tesis Yönetimi A.Ş. The “Tenzor International Cup”, which started to be organized by A.Ş., made a solid entry into the sailing world, both because it is a race special for J 70 class sailboats and because all the fine details were handled in the best way in the organization.

The general manager of the company and the sporting director of the races is a champion sailor; Burak Zengin. The experienced sailor stated that, as a company, they set out to bring world-class and Olympic sailing organizations to Turkey.

The goal is to bring world sailors together in Turkey

Kate Tsepliaeva, board member responsible for the company’s international connections, made the following statement about its future goals: “First of all, we have implemented a very special and new project in Turkey. This is also an important project for world sailing. In general, all the participants and the organizers of the organization We are happy. Our aim is to have sailors from all over the world compete under the roof of this organization in Turkey. We expect participants from many countries, especially Spain, Portugal and Germany, in the next stages. We also have competitions in the USA, which is the center of the J-70 class. They also participate in these races. “We expect him to participate in the final stage. Our goal next year is to organize the J-70 sailing races in Turkey with 50 boats.”

The first stage of the Winter Series, consisting of 5 stages in total, was between 7-10 December. A total of 12 teams participated in the races held in Bodrum Akyarlar Bay. The boats, which sailed for 3 days except the registration day, fought hard to take the first places in 5 races every day.

There were also athletes and teams who ranked first in the World Championships in the stages that took place under very difficult conditions due to heavy rain from time to time. One of them, Konstantin Besputin, competed in races with his boat Bogatyr, of which he was the team captain. The successful athlete emphasized that Bodrum is a good location for the World and European championships and that the Tenzor International Cup organization is a race prepared at a high level.

Great support for sailing from the public and private sectors

Businessman Mehmet Okay, the captain of “Aspat”, one of the Turkish teams competing in the races, and also the owner of the facility hosting the organization, also spoke hopeful about the future of the races. Okay: “We aim to hold these races here for many years. It is an organization that will add great value to our country’s tourism revenues. Federation races in the J 70 class were also held here. “We wish to take part in all kinds of projects that will develop sea sports,” he said.

One of the Turkish teams sailing in the races was the Özkan Family, who competed with the boat “Azurro”. Engin Özkan, the father of the Özkan family, competed in his J 70 class boat with his daughter Neşe Selin, son Alp Ege and the children’s aunt Ayşe Derment. The brothers received two special awards given to young sailors in the races, giving them hope to successfully represent Turkey in future international races.

The second stage is on January 11-14

The last 2 days of the organization, whose first day races were canceled due to heavy rain, witnessed fierce competitions. With the final competitions held on Sunday, Tenzor Team took first place, Russian Bogatyrs took second place and Dolce Vita took third place in the general classification.

Speaking at the Award Ceremony, Muğla Deputy Governor Murat Kahraman said that this important organization held in Bodrum during the winter period adds value to the region and that they will continue to provide more support to alternative sports.

The 2nd Stage of the organization will be held at Anthaven facilities, like the other stages, between 11-14 January.
