Acceptance tests of the Ship Combat and Effectiveness Evaluation Model (GEMED) Project, which will strengthen the analysis, procurement, system and tactical development capabilities of Turkish warships, have been completed.

According to the statement made by STM Defense Technologies Engineering and Trade Inc., the company continues to equip the Turkish army with national and innovative systems in the field of software as well as platform construction.

Acceptance tests of the Ship Combat and Effectiveness Evaluation (GEMED) Model Project developed by STM and stakeholder institutions within the scope of TÜBİTAK SAVTAG 1007 program have been successfully completed.

STM General Manager Özgür Güleryüz, in his evaluation on the subject, pointed out that STM has significant experience in simulation and decision support solutions and said:

“While on the one hand, we are empowering our Navy with modern and national platforms, on the other hand, as STM, we are developing software that will add intelligence to our platforms and headquarters. GEMED, which we developed as a simulation-based decision support solution, can evaluate the combat effectiveness of our Naval Forces’ combat platforms as well as assist our force in tactical development, design and procurement decisions. will provide scientific decision support. Within the scope of the GEMED Project, we have developed models of nearly 100 combat elements and subsystems. Thanks to GEMED’s platform, sensor, weapon and countermeasure models, effectiveness analyzes for surface, underwater and air operations can be carried out. Thus, combat scenarios can be analyzed. “The analysis can be done repeatedly in a simulation environment before the field. Thanks to GEMED, our Naval Forces will maximize its combat readiness level.”

More than 40 missions were tried in the GEMED environment

Developed by STM engineers, GEMED is used for combat effectiveness evaluation, decision support and tactical development for ship design/modernization/supply.

More than 40 mission applications for sea, air and underwater operations were carried out in the created simulation environment. The user has the ability to assign different tasks to relevant platform models and create a task plan through conditional transitions between tasks.

The user can perform multiple runs in the scenarios he/she creates, with experimental design under different environmental conditions for different platform system configurations, decision mechanisms and behaviors, and analyze the simulation results with multi-criteria decision-making techniques.
