“This cup means more than a race. Today, our young people are sailing in these seas where foreign navies anchor. We remember with gratitude Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades who gave us these days. Regardless of whether they participated in the race or not, all sailboats, small or large, will take part in the cortege we will organize. “We invite you to receive it. I wish we reach 100 years where our flag flies forever in our seas, and I congratulate all of us on Republic Day.”

DHL Express Turkey General Manager Volkan Demiroğlu also emphasized that this race is very important in order to announce Turkey’s name to the world.

Engin Yuvaktaş, Sporting Director of Istanbul Open Sea Yacht Racing Club, stated that they aim to reach 100 boats in 3 different classes.

Stating that they support the traveler classes and want them to grow, Yuvaktaş said that non-professional boat users who come with their families can participate in the race.

Underlining that they want to be able to sail on every coast in Turkey, which is surrounded by sea on three sides, Yuvaktaş gave the following information about the organization:

“Any boat that can sail from 7 meters to 25 meters can participate in this race free of charge. There will be a buoy race between Caddebostan and Adalar on October 27. Our race will start after a moment of silence to Ata in front of the Dolmabahçe Palace on the Bosphorus on October 28. October 29, That beautiful day when the Republic celebrates its 100th anniversary. We want to celebrate 100 years with all our boats in a cortege in the morning. We want to see all our sailors in this cortege. After the cortege, we will race on the Islands course. The awards of the cup will be in 10 different categories. Awards in 3 different categories to support women sailors “We will distribute them. Special awards will also be given to university students.
