The wave created by the İDO ferry as it approached the pier in Yenikapı, Istanbul, sank a fishing boat that was moored on the beach. The moments when the boat sank were recorded by the fishermen with their cell phone cameras.

The incident occurred yesterday at Yenikapı IDO pier in the morning hours.

According to the information obtained, Osman Gazi-1 Ferry, which carries cars between Bursa and Istanbul, created big waves while approaching Yenikapı. Fishing boats affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry SS Eminönü Fisheries Cooperative began to be swept away by the waves coming from the ferry towards the shore. One of the fishing boats could not resist the waves and sank. Two boats washed ashore and were severely damaged. The moments when the boat sank were recorded by the fishermen with their cell phone cameras. It was learned that while a total loss of approximately 1 million TL was incurred on the boats, the negotiations between the cooperative and IDO continue.
