TPAO was granted an oil exploration license for 8 years for 4 fields located in the Exclusive Economic Zone or continental shelf within the maritime jurisdiction areas determined by bilateral delimitation agreements in the Black Sea.
The decisions of the General Directorate of Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources regarding oil rights were published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, it was decided to grant oil exploration licenses for 8 years, starting from October 31, 2023, for 4 fields, which are TPAO’s territory, with a surface area of 556 thousand 162 hectares, 48 thousand 333 hectares, 326 thousand 253 hectares and 262 thousand 762 hectares, respectively.
On the other hand, the 100 percent share of ABE Petrol Doğalgaz Enerji Maden AŞ in the oil exploration license numbered AR/ABE/K/N48-c1, c4 in Şırnak was transferred to the General Directorate of Turkish Petroleum AO and registered in the Petroleum Registry, provided that it does not impose any obligations on the state. It was decided to register it based on Article 21 of the Turkish Petroleum Law No. 6491.
