Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and Algerian Minister of Fisheries and Seafood Ahmed Badani decided to establish a joint working group between the two countries in the field of fisheries and shipbuilding.

Minister of Transport Uraloğlu and his accompanying delegation met with Algerian Minister of Fisheries and Seafood Badani in the capital Algiers.

During the meeting, Uraloğlu pointed out the aim of further developing the bilateral relations between Turkey and Algeria, which has increased recently, and expressed his satisfaction with the fact that many different institutions between the two countries came together and discovered common working areas.

Pointing out that Algeria has a 1280-kilometer-long sea coast and has rich seafood with more than 500 fish species in its seas, Uraloğlu stated that issues such as processing, storage and transportation of fish stand out as extremely suitable areas for investment.

Minister Uraloğlu pointed out the importance of cooperation with Algeria in the field of shipbuilding and said, “We see it very valuable to expand the cooperation we have established with world countries on this subject for many years to include Algeria.” said.

On the other hand, in the written statement made by the Algerian Ministry of Fisheries and Seafood, it was stated that Minister Badani and his Turkish counterpart Uraloğlu discussed bilateral cooperation in the fields of fisheries, seafood and shipbuilding.

In the statement, it was stated that it was also decided to organize mutual visits between the parties to exchange experience and information and to establish a joint technical working group between the ministries to examine investment opportunities within the framework of a strategic partnership.

It was noted that Minister Badani also invited Minister Uraloğlu to participate in the International Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture Fair to be held in Oran, Algeria on 8-11 February 2024.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu, who came to Algeria today, met with Algerian Minister of Transport Yusuf Sharfa.
