GNAT FISHERIES COMMISSION MEETING IN TRABZON

The delegation, led by Commission Chairman AK Party Istanbul Deputy İsmail Emrah Karayel, first inspected Vakfıkebir and Çarşıbaşı fishing shelters. The delegation listened to the problems and demands of the fishermen, then visited the Kobtur Processing Facility in Çarşıbaşı district and received information about the production and export of fish meal and oil.

FEATURES SECTOR WAS DISCUSSED IN TRABZON

Commission members met with sector representatives at the consultation meeting held at the State Hydraulic Works 22nd Regional Directorate. At the meeting, the current situation and problems of the sector were discussed.

At the meeting, where the sustainability, efficiency and nature-friendly nature of the sector was emphasized, it was stated that issues such as pollution of the seas and improvement of ports should also be addressed.

Commission Chairman Karayel, in his statement to journalists, said that after the Black Sea Region, they will also conduct investigations in inland waters and the Marmara Region within the scope of their research tours.

TRABZON SHOULD BE THE LEADER OF THIS SECTOR

Stating that the sector is a large sector with an export figure of 1.7 billion dollars, Karadeniz said, “It needs to be a sustainable, efficient and nature-friendly sector.” said.

Commission Spokesperson, CHP Sinop Deputy Barış Karadeniz stated that the fishermen demanded a separate Ministry regarding fisheries and aquaculture and noted that the most urgent problem to be solved is the pollution of the seas.
