Bulk carrier RUEN sailed in Gulf of Aden, Puntland waters, west from Horn of Africa, in the evening Dec 17. Cruising in loops at slow speed since around 1800 UTC Dec 17, in front of town or village Murcaayo. No news yet on hijackers, who they are and what they want. Northern Puntalnd waters in Gulf of Aden in times of active Somalia piracy, were never known as pirates den, hijacked ships were kept along the eastern coast of Somalia in Indian ocean.
Previous: Bulk carrier RUEN with 17 crew hijacked on Dec 14 while en route from Singapore to Turkey, some 400 nm east of Socotra island. Ship’s AIS remained on, perpetrators took control and steer her to Puntland waters, northeast Somalia, with Indian and Spanish Navy on her track.
