order from new zealand to tersan shipyard

Tersan Shipyard will build a new factory fishing vessel for Aurora Fisheries.

Aurora Fisheries, part of the Solander Group, made an agreement with Tersan Shipyard for the construction of the new factory fishing vessel. The ship, planned to be delivered in the last quarter of 2025, will be designed by Skipsteknisk and will have the ST-116XL design, 80 meters long and 15.4 meters wide.

The new project, which will replace Aurora fishing’s existing vessel, will fish in waters around New Zealand. The ship will be able to accommodate 50 crew members with a modern and spacious interior. The onboard factory will be arranged for the production of various types of fish, stored on pallets in a freezer of approximately 200 square meters. It will have a cargo capacity of 2135 cubic meters of freezer warehouse for ready-sorted products on pallets.

The common experience of Tersan Shipyard and Skipsteknisk in the construction of deep-sea fishing boats is the most important factor in Aurora making this major investment. Following delivery, the new vessel will be used by Aurora Fisheries to target a variety of sustainably managed species through New Zealand’s quota management system. Solander Group is the smallest player in New Zealand Deepwater fishing, operating just one vessel, but it has its own quota and access to more through relationships with other companies.

Tersan Shipyard General Manager Mehmet Gazioğlu said about the project: “Tersan Shipyard is very proud to build this state-of-the-art ship for Aurora Fisheries. The fact that it will be the first ship to be delivered from Tersan to New Zealand makes it even more special for us. “We look forward to working with Aurora and Skipsteknisk and will work hard to continue construction of the ship and deliver it on time.” said.
